The Posh Foundation Girls NFYL team travelled to Tottenham for the penultimate game of their season on Wednesday, whilst the Boys CEFA team welcomed Portsmouth to the Weston Homes Stadium.

GIRLS NFYL

Posh NFYL went to Haringey Borough FC for their clash with Tottenham – two teams vying for fourth place in the South Women’s Premier Division.

Tottenham hit the front early when a ball was played through the Posh defence and the shot was slotted bottom left corner.

The game was scrappy and Spurs had most of the possession, with Posh struggling to get a hold of the ball in the early stages.

Spurs’ second goal was similar to their first, as another ball through evaded the backline, allowing for a one-on-one finish past Poppy Rees in the Posh net.

And they made it three inside the opening 15 minutes when a short corner was worked into a shooting position on the edge of the box, Rees made a smart stop, but was unfortunate with the rebound which fell to a white shirt for a tap in.

Posh had their first meaningful attack on 25 minutes when Georgie Oliver skipped by two defenders, but was denied a shot on goal, winning a corner.

Oliver continued to threaten and went close when she turned her defender and shot from the edge of the box, forcing the ‘keeper into a great save.

An early second half free kick saw Posh go close again as Milena Jasiolek popped up, but her effort went just wide.

Posh had grown into the game since the disappointment of the opening exchanges and this time it was Lola Cook who won the ball high and played out to Oliver, who crossed to the back post where Jasiolek’s header narrowly missed the target.

Posh pushed hard to find a goal but were susceptible to the counter attack. They were caught out when a ball was played down the Spurs’ right, which resulted in a cross to the back post for a tap in.

Antonina Such went one-on-one after battling hard to get past the last defender, but the shot was saved by the Spurs keeper.

Such and Jasiolek then linked up on the edge of the box before Jasiolek was brought down – a free kick was given despite appeals for a penalty.

Both sides had a couple of further attempts in the closing moments, but it was Tottenham who claimed all three points.

Posh now conclude their season next Wednesday when they travel to Portsmouth.

BOYS CEFA

Posh CEFA took to the Weston Homes Stadium pitch for their penultimate game of the 2025/26 season as they faced Portsmouth in South East 1.

Posh dominated from the outset and after chances for Max Krzanicki and Zak Wild, they almost took the lead through an own goal when the Pompey goalkeeper launched a clearance at his own defender, but the defender got back to the clear off the line.

They continued to threaten and Kai Woodhouse was at the heart of the play – his shot deflected behind for a corner.

The Posh midfielder went close again when he cut in and forced the goalkeeper into a save, before Krzanicki’s header on the rebound went straight at the ‘keeper.

Harrah Jones was the next to try his luck when he found space in the box to the left of goal but lifted his shot just over the bar.

The one-way traffic continued into the second half and Krzanicki went inches away from the opener when he met a dangerous low cross from Ollie Hill on the slide but put his effort just wide.

Evan Watkins then met a corner on the full volley, only to see it cleared off the line. There were appeals for a goal, waved away by the officials who deemed it hadn’t crossed the line.

Posh introduced Jack Sutton and Alfie Grimwood from the bench and the pair gave Posh more impetus – and it didn’t take long for Posh to finally take the lead as SUTTON swept Jones’ low cut back into the bottom corner.

Woodhouse and Watkins linked up again and the former found the latter rushing towards the box, but he fired wide.

Posh doubled their lead when SUTTON intercepted a clearance from the goalkeeper and bent his left footed shot into the top corner.

Watkins saw two more efforts blocked before Sutton was denied his hat-trick by the goalkeeper.

Posh were awarded a penalty when Wild was fouled and up stepped Bryan SCOLARI, who signed off from the Posh Foundation FEP by slotting away from the spot.
