Peterborough United Foundation’s ever expanding football offering is increasing for 2025/26, with the introduction of our U12 Junior Premier League team.
Our 2024/25 U11 EPP team has showed signs of potential over the past year together, which led coaches to form a team for the new campaign, allowing the players to play weekly fixtures together to further aid their development.
The team will be led by Brad Rayner, who currently coaches our boys FEP and U18 midweek teams. Brad is no stranger to the JPL, having guided two sets of players through U15 & U16 over the past four years.
Brad said: “It’s a really exciting time for our Elite Player Programme as we expand our JPL teams from U15’s and U16’s to now offer for our new U12’s group. The talent we’ve got within our pathway encouraged us to expand and we’re hopeful for exciting seasons ahead for all of our teams. With three JPL teams and an U18’s team competing in the Northants Senior Youth League, we have four teams playing in regular competitive fixtures which will be positive for all of our players development.”
There is plenty of excitement building around the team from players, coaches and parents alike, with the group set to take on some of the best teams of their age group in the region.
Adam Thomas is a parent of one of our U12 JPL players and is looking forward to seeing the group head into the JPL, commenting: “This last year has shown that the Peterborough EPP U11 squad and coaching has established a talented bunch of players, and it was exciting to hear the coaches’ aspirations to start a U12 JPL team next season with the boys. The first presentation explaining the process and thoughts behind the JPL U12 squad just highlighted the enthusiasm from the Foundation coaches and all information provided leading up to the creation has been very helpful and professional.
I think I can speak for all the parents and boys involved that it’s going to be an exciting year for everyone with further opportunity to hone the team’s skills with more solid coaching and JLP challenges ahead, with everyone looking forward to seeing how the boys game develops over the season.”
