Peterborough United Foundation are delighted to announce that after being named Player of the Game at a recent trial at St George’s Park, Marley of our Scholarship programme has been selected in the National Football Youth League’s 2024/25 All-Star Team.

Marley has been on a journey with Peterborough United Foundation, initially being signed for our JPL team after posting impressive numbers for his local grassroots side. From there, he moved onto the scholarship programme ahead of the 2023/24 season and featured regularly for our Boys A Team in his debut campaign – making him part of the most successful team in the history of the programme at Peterborough United Foundation.
So far this season, he’s become a prominent member of the squad and currently sits on 10 goals from 15 games across both Posh A and Posh B.
In mid-December, Marley was selected as part of the NFYL’s South All-Star Squad, to take on the North All-Star Squad in mid-January. He attended St. George’s Park, the training base of the England National Football Teams, for the trial and put on a very strong showing. He was involved in multiple goals for his side and impressed coaches and representatives of the league.
And it has been announced that Marley made the final cut, combining the North and South Squads into one team, who are set to take on a number of professional academies in the coming months.
On being selected, Marley said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed playing over the last few seasons as a part of this programme and have had many quality experiences, with the most recent of them being the NFYL All-Star trial held at St. George’s Park. It was a fantastic experience representing the programme at the event and a great opportunity to showcase myself on the pitch.”
And Scholarship Coach, Brad Rayner, who attended for All-Star trial game, said: “I’ve had the pleasure of coaching Marley for the past four seasons, he first joined us an U15 as part of our JPL teams.
I’ve been so proud to watch the progress he has made in his time with us, including a trial with the academy and now his success with the NFYL All Stars.
Marley has always been hard working, dedicated to his game and very humble when success has come his way, traits which will only help him go further in his football journey and in his life outside away from the pitch.
Marley is a true success story for our programmes and shows what players can achieve when they commit themselves and take the opportunities afforded to them. We are all incredibly proud of him and know this is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting future ahead for him.”
From all of us at Peterborough United Foundation, we’d like to congratulate Marley for his achievement and wish him all the best in the upcoming All-Star fixtures!
