Wednesday saw a second clean sweep of 2025 for our three scholarship sides, here’s how all the action unfolded.
POSH A
Posh A hosted Tottenham Hotspur in a crucial game for both sides in the bottom half of the NFYL South Premier Division. Posh A were looking for a return to league form after defeat against Plymouth last time out, but are still going strongly in both cup competitions.
Posh A started well and created the first good chance when George Carder raced onto a ball over the top, cut inside and found Levi Baker, but his shot went just wide.
They went close again when a good delivery from left by Zak Wild fell nicely for Evan Watkins on the edge of the box, but his effort was blocked behind for a corner.
Posh A then had a strong penalty claim turned down when Marley Manser was hauled down inside the box when through on goal.
Manser picked himself up and went close to the opener himself when he was picked out at the back post by Watkins, but the shot went wide again.
But they eventually got themselves in front when they won the ball in the attacking third of the pitch and Carder centred for BAKER, who steered his effort into the bottom corner of the Spurs net.
They picked up where they left off after the interval and quickly doubled the advantage, when a great ball over the top by Matas Sakavicius found Kevin Robalo, who rolled it across for MANSER to smash home from close range.
Posh A were dominant and defending well, allowing their attacking players to create chances almost at will. Wild went close when the ball fell for him in the box, but his effort went wide.
Tyler Sansom hit the post as the game headed towards the closing stages, but Posh A’s third quickly followed when a wide free kick saw Freddie Marshall have a shot well saved, but the rebound fell kindly for Cole MORTELL to convert the rebound.
Max Olbromski almost made it four late on when he found a yard inside the box, but his shot crashed against the outside of the post from a relatively tight angle.
It was an important win for Posh A, who now prepare to travel to the Nest to take on Norwich City in the NFYL League Cup R16 next week.

POSH B
Posh B faced an important game of their own as they welcomed Colchester United to the idverde Training Ground, the only side to have taken points off the league leaders, Swindon Town, so far this season.
But Posh B came flying out of the blocks and took the lead relatively early on when Herbie HILLIARD found a yard of space inside the box to get a shot away, and he fired it in off the far post.
Colchester didn’t let it get them down and could have levelled the scores when they won the ball back high up the pitch, but the resulting shot went well wide.
And they found the equaliser when a deep free kick was nodded in at the back post.
But Posh B hit straight back with a flowing move which resulted in Ben Boyes’ low cross being converted from close range by Max KRZANICKI.
And they got straight back on the offensive at the kick off and won themselves a penalty, where Harrison JONES sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to install a two-goal lead.
Colchester started the second half well and almost got one back when a ball into the box was smashed towards goal, but Harvey Barnes made a brilliant block to divert the ball behind for a corner.
And the solid defensive work was rewarded when Amarni WARD breezed past his man down the right wing, drove into the box and found the far corner with the outside of his right foot.
Colchester got a goal back late on when they founded Jakub Dabrowski and found the back of the Posh B net, but Posh held on for a solid home win in CEFA South East 2.

GIRLS SCHOLARSHIP
Posh travelled to Moulton FC to take on Northampton Town in a Nene Derby at the top of the NFYL South Premier Division.
Northampton went into the game above Posh in the league, but knowing a Posh win would put them within two points of the Cobblers, with a game in hand.
Posh started well and created the games’ first chance when Ellie Curson’s deep free kick found the head of Ella Bale, but she nodded the effort just wide.
Northampton had their first chance on seven minutes, but it was a routine stop for Meg Dellar in the Posh goal.
The first half was relatively low key, with neither side creating much in the way of clear-cut chances.
But Northampton took a lead into half time when a shot from a tight angle found its way into the far corner of the Posh net a couple of minutes before the break.
Posh hit back four minutes into the second half when Bale held the ball up and played it to Alice AKINYEMI, who found the top corner of the Northampton net with the outside of her right foot.
They almost completed the turnaround when Bale drove into the box and found Akinyemi again, but this time her effort went wide.
But they did get their noses in front when BALE was brought down in the box and found the bottom left corner from the spot.
Posh defended well and saw the game out for their latest win of a great run of form.
